DJ Postal
Name?
dj postal
Where is your band from?
Wasn’t born in in Bellingham but have been up here for about the last 10 years or so…
Who is in the band and what role does each person have?
Just me…dj/producer/remixer
What brought the band together and when?
My dislike for band related drama caused me to move over to dj’ing.
What genre, of music do you classify your band as?
House, breaks, mash-ups, club, electro, hip hop, funk & soul, downtempo, dubstep and drum & bass.
What inspires your music?
Life.
Who or what influences your band’s sound?
What is not being played on the radio or mtv. Just kidding…well sort of…anything with a good beat and energy.
Where have you toured?
I haven’t toured per say but I have played up and down the west coast from San Diego, CA to Vancouver, B.C.
How many albums have you released?
I have release too many mix tapes/cd’s to count plus I have had two different radio shows (one for a year and another for 2+ years). Been a resident dj at Rumors pretty much the entire time I have lived in B’ham. As well as doing a number of other nights around the town & Seattle.
Where do you see your band going in the future?
Hopefully getting a weekend night here in town.
What are the highs and lows in your band’s history?
Highs were back in the day when people respected dj’s the same as bands.
Lows are nowadays were a lot of people see dj’s as human jukeboxes without understanding what goes into dj’ing….
You’re stuck on a deserted island and forced to listen to one album for eternity. What album would you pick?
Either Otis Redding: Live at the Whiskey or AC/DC Back in Black.
Your favorite piece of musical gear?
My imagination.
